Modernistyczny Meksyk - Cancún, nowoczesny kurort

Dzisiaj prezentuje Wam przedostatnią odsłonę zdjęć z podróży do Meksyku. Przenosimy się z nad Oceanu Spokojnego ku wybrzeżu Morza Karaibskiego - do Cancun.
W końcu lat 60. władze Meksyku, w obliczu ciągłej popularności kurortu w Acapulco i przez to świadome ogromnych korzyści materialnych jakie przynosi turystyka, podjęły decyzję o budowie zupełnie nowej miejscowości wypoczynkowej. Wybór padł na Cancun, położone na północy półwyspu Jukatan nad Morzem Karaibskim .

Today I would like to show my last but one part of pictures from my trip to Mexico. We are going to transfer from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea - to Cancun.
In the end of the '60s Mexican government, aware of Acapulco's popularity and huge incomes, wanted to build a completely new resort. They chose Cancun, a city located at the nord end of the Yucatan Peninsula, at the Carribean seaside.




Miasto podzielone jest na 2 części, oddalone od siebie o kilka kilometrów - Downtown oraz Hotel Zone. Strefa hotelowa położona jest na długim na kilkanaście kilometrów ale bardzo wąskim półwyspie. Ulokowane są tam dziesiątki hoteli (w sumie obecnie w Cancun jest prawie 25 tyś. pokoi hotelowych), każdy z hoteli ma dostęp do bardzo szerokiej, piaszczystej i publicznej plaży. Zapewniam Was, nie wierzcie gdy mówią, że w Kołobrzegu jest najpiękniejsza plaża na świecie...
The city is divided into two parts, located a few kilometers besides each others - Downtown and Hotel Zone. Hotel Zone is situated at a very long, but very narrow peninsula. There are tens of hotes there (in Cancun there are almost 25 000 hotel rooms), every hotel has an access to a very wide, sandy and public beach. I assure you, do not believe people who say Kołobrzeg has most beautiful beaches in the world...




Downtown w Cancun jest centrum życia towarzyskiego i handlowego. Restauracje, bary i budki z jedzeniem są na każdym kroku, a ich ilość zdradza jaka jest jedna z największych namiętności Meksykanów.
Cancun Downtown is the social and commercial center. Restaurants, bars and stands with food are everywhere, and their quantity shows the bigges Mexican love.

W Cancun ulokowanych jest kilka portów promowych, które oferują przewóz na pobliskie karaibskie wyspy m.in. Cozumel oraz będącą przedmiotem następnego posta - Isla Mujeres.
Cancun has a couple of harbours, which offers a transfer to nearby Carribean islands, f. e. Cozumel and Isla Mujeres (Isla Mujeres will be the main theme of my next post).
